I was trying to add to this but couldn’t access the page except as a comment, so perhaps you could add this to the page for me:
    Gervaise– a 1956 adaptation of L’Assommoir. Here’s a link to my review:

    • I think Lisa sent you an official ‘invite’ so you can be a full-fledged contributor and add content, links, the works at will instead of only in the comment section. If you didn’t receive it, let me know and I’ll send out another.

A1953 version, French, of Thérèse Raquin. Not a bad version, but it’s not my favourite Zola.

I might have mentioned it before – not sure – there is a new movie called “Cezanne et moi” about Zola.

The first novel, La Fortune des Rougon, was made into a TV series in France in the 1980s (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0313074/) and has recently been released on DVD (https://www.fnac.com/a14886630/Coffret-La-Fortune-des-Rougon-DVD-Madeleine-Robinson-DVD-Zone-2), but sadly this only seems to be available in France.
